Ducati 1098 Ad

I noticed this last night on the back cover of RRW. Read the small print at the bottom. The price goes up to "$24,9995". Also, they show SBK symbols (little wreath-thing) for several years, including 2000 and 2002. Um, weren't those the years Colin took the title on the SP1/SP2? The implication of the symbols is that they won World Superbike championships in those years. A couple of years are missing, so it's not like they just listed every year they competed.

Just found it interesting.

I should be a copy editor.

Re: Ducati 1098 Ad

The wreaths are for the constructor's championships, and the $24K is for the tricolore, Mr. Copy Editor. Sir.

Constructor's championships, whatever. Mularkey. Who cares if you got 2nd through 9th if you didn't win the whole thing?

And look at the price again.

Maybe there should be a decimal point in front of the 5 for that extra fifty cents.

Re: Ducati 1098 Ad

Funny, someone wrote into Motorcyclist about the Duc ad this month.

What did they say? I subscribed to Motorcyclist for many years but let it run out probably 3-4 years ago.

Basically what CBRVFR said...it's in the letters to the editor portion.

Regardless, they still had a typo.
