If you want to do it then go for it. Do you have someone you can learn from?

Do it now. Waiting only narrows your options.

Re: Do you think?

The few times I watched the "midnight Nationals" in Ft. Lauderdale, the girls collected a lot of sucker money. Something about the power to weight ratio . . .

And there's your ticket. Sounds like you have plenty of backing - you just might have to prove them wrong. Go for it!

Re: Do you think?

Hang on, you're talking drag racing motorcycles and your dad isn't sure if females can do it?
Do a bit of research on Angelle Savoie. Ask your dad if he's ever heard of her.

The younger you start, the better it is.

Re: Do you think?

Take the class and decide. But do it for your own reasons, not to prove anything to anyone.

Yeah, but we still ARE stupid!

Seriously though, you should go for your dreams! Take into account the "wisdom" of those with more experience, but go on and do YOUR best.
There is no telling what you are capable of till you try.
Go for it! God Bless!

Re: Do you think?

Kawigirl... don't let anyone tell you you can't do something cuz you're a girl!

Take the class and give it a try.. see if you're comfortable even doing it. Just cuz they throw you on a Big Power bike to learn don't mean you have to go ballz to the wall from the get go... take a few slow runs to get the feel of the new bike and as you do a few you'll figure out quick if it's for you or not.

You're making a huge transition from a dirt bike to a high power sportbike but it dont' mean you can't do it ...

Newbs are alot easier to teach than those who have done things their way for so long that it's hard for them to break their bad habits they've acquired.. trust me I know this from experience... I wish I had had the opportunity you have to have learned these things from a pro from the get go.

I've ridden bikes since I was 6 yrs old and I'm still learnin... so take this chance and run with it hun. DO IT FOR YOU! I've been teaching my girls to ride as well.. and if at any time they are no longer interested I have no problem with them quitting but hey one will never know till they try..

They enjoyed goin to trackdays with me and watchin Mom and this season they'll be there on the side lines with me at the dragstrip... nothing more gratifying than sharin something you love with your family and your Dad will quickly learn that the first time he sees his girl take it down the track ;o)

I look forward to hearing from you on here how you're doing!

E.

Re: Do you think?

By all means go for it. I wonder what I could have done had I had the opportunity to start earlier. Follow your dreams and even if you dont prove daddy wrong you will be glad that you did it. Good luck with it.
