Good run.
A few more runs should get you into a 1.6 60ft.

Every few 10ths help.

Welcome aboard Max

Thats a good number...but that video seems so damn tame it looks like a low 11's run I must just be used to watching loud as hell nos'd bikes

You need to launch on the last yellow light, not on the green. A .9 reaction time is only one tenth off from being a full second. That would have lost you a race against a slower bike.

bda116,
I have no idea why it says what it does on the top. A few of us rented the track and I guess they just never changed the heading of the slips.

Revvv,
I was focussing on the launch. I wasn't racing anyone all day since I was the only bike and just never got into the groove of cutting good lights. I just wanted the bike in the 9's. I can and have cut good lights.

Max is seriously fast on the strip. He's been drag racing some seriously quick cars for as long as I've known him, which is about 6 years. I'm sure he can post some of his car slips. What did that crazy 'Vette of yours end up running, Max?

Cars and bikes are 2 completely different animals. I have been involved in Drag Boat Racing, Drag Car, and now Bikes. The principal is always the same, but how you get there takes a different path.

Re: 1st thread in here, LOL --> some video

I actually had belt issues with the supercharger for the one month I owned it while it was done (2 year project). I had to sell it because I was getting married (never happenned) and I really couldn't afford it anymore at the time with me moving. I took it to the track only once. The belt would slip as soon as you passed the 1/8th mile marker. It would trap about 115 mph like my bike but then it would blow the belt off the pulley around the 1000 foot mark (the belt would spin badly, over heat, and be useless). It only went a 11.1 @ 119 in the quarter, with the clutch pulled in for the last 320 feet. Based on the 8th time and speed it was on a 9.7 pass if the belt would of held. It definitely had enough power. It put down 600 rwhp on the lowest boost setting. If I only didn't have belt issues, (I was working on a cog drive setup for it when I sold it) the whole setup was designed for 750 rwhp, but due to the limit of space for a dedicated blower belt you have to use the serpentine setup which is about 80 to 90 inches long (prone to stretching) depending on your routing. Even tried a 10 rib setup instead of the stock setup. The new owner has it now with a revised pulley setup with newer ways of applying tension to the belt. It works fine now, but only reliably in roadracing conditions at the 600 rear wheel mark. At that power level it was just as fast as my bike, and even faster as speed would build up (aerodynamics in favor of the cage).

The car was actually set up for road racing. It ran in the last Silver State Classic event with it's new owner. That was my goal with it, but life has funny ways of throwing you curve balls.

I now play with bikes because it's more fun and much more affordable. I can't bring myself to spend that type of money (what I spent on the vette) again.

All my seat time drag racing comes from making test passes with shop cars for my Dad's speed shop.
