If you plan on doing 1000 yard stuff, why would you only want a 15 power?

I would check state laws on carrying where she works. I know here it is a no go.

So the target will be visible with the holdover?

So I am required by law to ask. What the hell are you shooting that requires a $4k scope? I mean really you could buy a used car or motorcycle for that price. Or a lot of gum. Maybe I am just out of touch with reality, but for 4 grand I will just scoot in a little closer. :)

I can't speak about the trijicon in particular, but in general, high end scopes are worth it for the optical quality. No different than your high end camera lenses. There is a difference between a $500 nikon and a $4000 Zeiss, both in glass and mechanical quality/accuracy.

I said to 600 yards, but it'd have no problem shooting steel at 1k, be hard to get a really top score on a paper target though.

We'll see if the Trijicon is worth it, but rumor is, it is made of truly spectacular materials and design. I'd probably end up with a USO due to reticles, but I love Trijicon stuff.

While I do agree with quality glass on a quality rifle, zeiss would not go in the top end IMO. My dad had one on a browning rifle, I used his rifle one time deer hunting. Took a shot on a deer and missed, went for a follow up shot and could not see the center of the scope. Seems an inspection tag had come loose and adhered to one of the glasses. While some may thing that is a fluke, I don't and would never buy one myself.

I was refering more to camera optics, Fig being a photographer. Perhaps a Kodak Brownie vs a Hasselblad would have been a better comparason.

She can't inside work, but everywhere else. Well, not everywhere, but you know what I mean.

I haven't been that impressed with zeiss either, for the money.

Hey, did you talk to Remington about the MSR?
  11. NinerPilot Member

I buddy of mine (well friend of a friend) is working with Remmington on the MSR project. It is supposed to become available to the public in the second half of this year I believe, though it will be pricey. I believe the chassis alone is $1800. The next gen of AI chassis are going to be all metal too, they had them there the past 2 years.

Yeah, but a custom rifle is real money too. I'm really interested in these new designs, the Remy looks awesome. Be cool to be able to shoot up to Lapua length on the same chassis, wonder how well the interchangeable barrels are going to work in practice?

I was looking at those before. I like them.

Stag just released a pretty great sounding OTS 3 gun rifle with Deuk offset sites, Magpul furniture, Giessele trigger, 18" barrel and brake...and for a good price.

Saw one at the shop last weekend, he said they've been selling more than 1 a week.

I'd be surprised if they weren't at the last few Super Bowls, and more than 1 at that. Being a highly visible potential terrorist target I think the authorities would be remiss if they didn't take appropriate steps to stop or prevent something going down.

It's a little odd, but nice stuff. Think what would have happened if a fan was looking around with binoculars and seen that up in the air. Surprised someone didn't.

Finally had time to look over the Remington Defense Site. Very cool stuff.
