Glad to see this tech getting to the automotive world. Their batteries are only about 2lbs, compared to about 10lbs for a conventional lead acid battery. With pricing right around $130/battery, that's a pretty cheap performance improvement.

Looks like they'll be at the NYC show this weekend. Anybody up for checking them out?

If they are as good as batterystuff claims, they'll go into my motorcycles/atv. $130 isn't that much more than the gel battery I just got for the ATV. (it was $89)

2 lbs, I've seen guys spend $1000 trying to save 5 lbs on a bike. This is a bargain!

Nice find! I saw some light-weight batteries going anywhere between 200-400 bucks. $130 is just a bit more than oem Yamaha battery that I use which lasted me 3 years already. When it dies out, probably soon, I'll probably pick up one of these.

6.8 lbs for the Shorai @ $130 compared to $80 Yamaha battery which is about 8lbs. Hmm worth the cash money>?

OOohhh. I misread it completely. It says "This LFX battery is 6.80 Lbs. lighter than the lead-acid YT9B-BS"

    Well in that case..... :D

Though I wonder, are these going to last as long as Yamaha battery?

My brother assembled some of his own packs using a soldering iron and shrink wrap. He used them for an RC car though.

On the VFR the weight savings wouldn't really mean anything but if I could assemble my own and save some room it would make it easer for me to add a fuse block and some of the other electrical upgrades that I'd like.

I might make my own 6V packs for my sons Powerwheels ATV.
