Emails

So I don't know what it is, but I keep getting emails from postings in threads I've subscribed to. Every thread I post ends up as a subscription, with the no subscriptions option taken, and still get the email with the no email option...

Anyone else?

I'm using Firefox.

Re: Emails

I got the same thing even though email notification was off. I dont remember what I did...I think I may have just blocked the the emails because they kept coming through on my blackberry. Every few minutes I would get an annoying buzz.

Re: Emails

You'll have to unsubscribe from those threads. That option just disables any new subscriptions. If you go into your UserCP you'll see an option on the left to "List Subscriptions". You can unsubscribe from there.

Re: Emails

I did that at first but when I kept replying to new threads I kept forgetting to unsubscribe to them. It became a bit annoying.

ND, I'm not subscribing, yet every thread I post to adds them as subscriptions- oh about 44 now.

I don't see the button for unsubscribe either. Just a box for notification. None of these automatic subscriptions are causing notification now though...

Re: Emails

Go to your User CP, then to options and in the "Messaging & Notification" section there is a drop down box for "Default Thread Subcription Mode".
What is it set to?

Under options, "no email notification".

If I set it to "do not subscribe", it subscribes anyway, and I get emails up the a**.

Re: Emails

If you set it to do not subscribe it shouldn't add any new subscriptions. Any subscriptions that it created prior to changing it to "do not subscribe" you'll have to manually unsubscribe from.

If you click on the thread to view it, at the top right of it you'll see "Thread Tools" It's listed under there.

Re: Emails

For those who haven't updated manually yet, I just discovered that once you display your subscriptions, you can check the box (I selected to "check all") and at the bottom of the page where you can "move to a folder", you can also change the email notification type.
