site won't open

ok so this is a really weird issue I'm having. motorcycleaddicts.org and fireblades.org both won't load unless I am signed onto aol. no idea why aol has to be signed on because I'm using a cable modem. I've tried opening both sites in Firefox and Safari but nothing. once aol is signed on though I can use firefox/safari and they open just fine. its just those 2 sites, every other site I tried worked.

anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

right now its a gateway program apparently. otherwise it just takes up space on a hd that could otherwise be used to store more pr0n.

Do other sites work without AOL? Did someone change your default browser?

every other site I tried worked (google, rc51.0rg, myspace, yahoo...)

no one touched the computer. unless my mom came into my room when I was taking a nap, but she doesn't have the technical prowess to do anything like this.

I just figured there are smarter computer people on here than me so it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Re: site won't open

I think your Mom maybe came in and reconfigured the proxy settings or modified the routing table on your router, or maybe she moved your PC onto a vlan?

It sounds to me like an unstall of AOL is in order.

Re: site won't open

If you have comcast and a Mac toss AOL in the trash where it belongs. If you have Windoz there is a LOT of issues that AOL could cause.

I thought that Macs just worked. Never any problems at all.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they never have any problems. in the 7 years I've owned this computer its been down exactly once when some system file got corrupted and I had to wipe the hard drive and start over. only minor glitches such as this one on very rare occasions. this is the first issue I've had since switching to OSX I think 2 years ago.
