One tangent observation from the weekend...it might be nice to source out a couple of MCADX banners to hang from the EZ-Up in the pits during member attended trackdays...
Could be a good way to create some exposure...

That was the year my left foot problems started. Right after the photo was taken, I was trying to start the car (only to warm the tires up for Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell and Oliver Gavin...who by the way won the GTS class eight laps ahead of their nearest competitor at the 12 Hours of Sebring).
As I said, I was only trying to warm up the tires when Security came and yanked me out of the window catching my left foot in the steering wheel and twisting it when they threw me to the ground. However, since my foot was caught in the wheel, my body didn't slam the ground...my head did. So I have no memory of the incident.
The photographer had already walked off to find another hunk of manliness to capture forever on digital media so there is no record of what happened.
Chevrolet Racing agreed to never acknowledge this incident ever happened in the settlement.
However, I cannot remember any of this happening probably because of the head injury. Heck, for that matter...I cannot remember a head injury at all! However, I do remember Ron Fellows and Andy Pilgrim who spearheaded the #3 and #4 C5-R cars very well for an outstanding year in GTS!
Oh, I almost forgot (must be that head injury I don't remember) to thank both Conqsoft and Sheep for the reminders, but the sidestand is gone at Grattan this year! However,,,I can't help but chuckle when the MCADX crew gives me a for that!
[Serious mode on] My intent of the pic was to show an example of a banner. This concept could be developed by more artistic folks than I, such as graphixman? I like seamus' idea but from a cost/practical standpoint I don't think many of us will spring the bucks for a new custom lettered EZ-up. Therefore a handheld banner (as demonstrated ) or a larger banner that could be clipped to an EZ-up or taped to a trailer, or draped across a sleeping evl_twn or...well, you get the idea, may be the way to go! I'd spring some bucks for a banner.
Just got off the phone with a canopy graphics company. They're creating a rendition for me. Should have it tonight. It's a bit more expensive than I expected though. May be cost prohibitive.
Their graphics guys love grafixman's work. Even the salesperson was excited about it.
Oh, and they're going to give me some prices on a 3'x5' banner too.

He's definitely the man.

Grafixman has some really good contacts for banners out his way. The one he had made for me was very high quality work and the price was amazing....you may want to check with him as an alternative.

Here are the tent and banner renderings I got back from tentswithgraphics. They played around with them a little but we're pretty much free to design them however we want. MCADX 3x5 Banner Render.jpgMCADX Popup Render.jpg
The tent prices hurt my feelings but the banners are right about what I expected. The tent alone is $490 but they're custom made and have a 3 year warranty.
Tent Size/Number of Units/Price per Unit/Total Price
10’ x 10’ Top & Frame: 1 @ $490 $490
Graphics on tent top 10’ side: 2 @ $250 $500
Graphics on valance 10’ Side: 4 @ $100 (per section) $400
Travel Bag with wheels: 1 @ $75 $75
Shipping fee to be determined Sub Total $1,465 Per Unit
3ft W x 5ft L Banner with Graphics$120
I've got some other requests out there but companies don't seem to be responding as fast as these guys did.
I've looked at this every way I could possibly look at it and the only price drop I can find so far is to reduce the number of sides with graphics. By putting the MCADX logo on one side of the tent top and only two sides, it still only drops the price by $450.
Also, after thinking about it, I'm not sure I'd want a black tent (heat) and would probably like a gray or silver color.

I just got another email. They're going to change some things on it and use a different tent (metal v aluminum) and resend. It drops the price to around $500.
Is there any interest in the banner while I'm working on this? Redesign? I definitely want a banner and depending on how the tent looks, I'll probably get one of those two.
Group purchase is 5 or more but I have to get specifics on the price reduction over 5.
