Interesting. I saw the snippet on Roadracignworld.com.

Don't suppose it was some bug publicity ploy or a way for HD to jettison Buell, knowing that they had someone in their back pocket - all lined up to "save" Buell .... ?

Not likely, but it give fodder to those tin-foil hat types.

Don't know about that - that stockholder's quarterly report wasn't exactly a media trial balloon.

Hope they can do something to keep those people at it, but I'd be surprised if any municipality can back such a venture these days with anything but back-loaded tax incentives.

Far more likely that some politicians that don't understand or accept the writing on the wall are fighting the tide with the worst case scenario being that their public image will be bolstered.

Whenever I hear about something like it, whether it be by a gov't agency or a private person/company, I always think "what are they going to do differently?" It seems like people just want to keep things the same. Is that what you really want? My guess would be that Buell wants more market share, more profit, etc. etc. Doing the same thing will almost certainly net them the same result.

Knee jerk reaction I think.
