You mean everyone needs one, they just might not want it yet
I must admit I enjoy the R1200RT as well...
I really liked the ride of that machine.
The GS beat it out on pillion comfort though. We couldn't get the windscreen on the RT into a position on the highway that worked for her. There was always too much buffeting.
If you think that loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to really ride that thing could do.
I have avoided taking an RT out thus far, but after sitting on one I instantly realized I should avoid that at all costs. Never got so far as the pillion, and I'd also be afraid of taking it over muddy quagholes.
This back corner of my mind thinks I should get a ZX-14 or a Connie to keep it company.

The Seamii are awesome.
I figured the RT would be the best mount no doubt for strictly roads. However, I have a trip to Purdoe Bay, Alaska next summer... I'd like very much to hit the Dalton Hwy on something more suited to dirt hwy's

I took the bagged Futura to the grocery and liquor store tonight. There's something genuinely gratifying about shopping while on two wheels and knowing you can pack it all in. On the shopping list: a gallon of milk, large box of Bisquick and six pack of beer (only because they don't carry the good stuff in the twelve-box) and still had room for plenty more.
