Roberto Colaninno, president of Piaggio Group, owner of Aprilia, announced that they'll be back on World SBK next year and in MotoGP within three years if their plan works out. He said that they'll have to come up with the money for it and that would depend on the financial results of the company at short term. The main objective is WSBK for now, but MotoGP is an important goal for the brand.
This was an announcement made during the introduction of the new Aprilia Shiver 750.
Hopefully, in a few years, MotoGP will get more competitive with Kawasaki trying hard to make a come back and now Aprilia returning to the top category.
