Back in the Saddle?
Just made a handshake deal with a guy on an Aprilia RST 1000 Futura.
No guarantees but the deal looks solid up to this point. It will be nice to be back on two wheels after a four year hiatus (almost to the day). Sold the 929 in May 2004 and have bikeless ever since.
If the deal works out, pics will be posted.

You pilot types are supposed to be good at basic math. That's only three years.
I'm going to need to take a look at your logbook.

Re: Back in the Saddle?
Ride it in great health. I thought you might be taking a hiatus after the death of your friend.
Are parts still plentiful for the Futura?

Dude, you will love the Futura... everyone I know does. Parts can be a bitch sometimes, but its worth it!

Bad logbook entry - math is good. I meant May 2003!
And I take offense to the pilot slander - I'm in maintenance...

In a strange way, it was actually a motivational factor. I think it made me start wondering about the things in life that are important to me but missing.
Parts can be an issue but there is a premiere Aprilia dealer here in Texas that is legendary for parts stock and customer service.

I am sure you are talking about AF1, are you not?

Why yes, yes I am.
Heard nothing but good things about them.

Re: Back in the Saddle?
Yes, they are fantastic. Micah is the friendliest guy I have met at a shop. They really know the brand well. The seat on the futura is heaven.

Re: Back in the Saddle?
As fate would have it, I found another one closer to me with substantially fewer miles for the same price.
Test rode it last night and will be picking it up either today or tomorrow (depending on schedule).
This one is immaculate... one owner, just over 4,000 miles on the clock and in beautiful shape.

Re: Back in the Saddle?
Yeah, right! I'm having a hard enough time just to make my way 30 miles from the house to pick the thing up...
5 month old twins seem to require quite a bit of time.

Re: Back in the Saddle?
Took delivery today and rode it home is less-than-ideal conditions. Constant downpours and crappy traffic but the bike does FANTASTIC in the rain.
If I've got this big of a grin on my face after riding through that crap, it's nothing but good times from here on out.
