Aprilia SXV Upgrade & New Warranty

Aprilia USA is proud to announce the introduction of a 3 + 9 Warranty Program for 2007 model year
RXV and SXV, Off Road models. The 2007 model year Off Road motorcycles fall into three categories
and the 3 + 9 Warranty Program will be applied as follows.

1. All 2007 model year RXV and SXV models retailed from December 1, 2007 forward will receive
Aprilia’s Original Limited Warranty of three (3) months, plus a nine (9) month extension. The warranty start date will be the retail date of sale (warranty registration date).

2. All 2007 model year RXV and SXV models retailed prior to December 1, 2007, which are still under Aprilia’s Original Limited Warranty of three (3) months, will receive the nine (9) month extension. The warranty start date will remain the original date of retail sale/warranty registration date.

3. 2007 model year RXV and SXV models that were registered prior to September 1st are out of warranty and will remain out of warranty. Although these motorcycles will not receive the nine (9) month extension, Aprilia USA will continue to review customer requests for assistance on a case by case basis. Strict adherence to service and warranty guidelines such as, but not limited to, suggested services and service intervals as described in the owner’s Use and Maintenance Book and warranty exclusions as detailed in the Limited Warranty will be followed in reviewing warranty claims submitted under the 3 + 9 Warranty Program for each category described above.

In the near future each Aprilia Off Road dealer will receive a package containing information on the Off Road Limited Warranty. For your convenience, information on the warranty for both the 2007 and 2008 model year Off Road Products is included in this package. The package contains 50 Limited Warranty hang tags for RXV and SXV models on display, 5 Limited Warranty pedestal cards for display at various customer locations such as salesman’s desk, parts counter, F&I areas, and 100 individual Limited Warranty statements for presentation to your Off Road customers at the time of retail sale. Please use this information to best advantage when presenting and discussing the 2007 model year, 3 + 9 Warranty Program to your customers. Please review the following statement of Aprilia’s Original Limited Warranty for details of coverage and exclusions.

Model: RXV / SXV 4.5, RXV / SXV 5.5
Model Years: 2007 and 2008
Model Year 2007 Off Road Models
Limited Warranty – For all, first retail purchasers and each subsequent purchaser of 2007 model year RXV and SXV models in both 4.5 and 5.5 engine capacities, imported through Piaggio Group Americas, Inc., Aprilia USA warrants the motorcycle will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) months, without mileage limitations. This warranty commences when the motorcycle is delivered to its first retail purchaser. This warranty is valid for the RXV and SXV motorcycle in either restricted or derestricted forms.
Model year 2008 Street Legal Models Limited Warranty – For all, first retail purchasers and each subsequent purchaser of 2008 model year RXV and SXV models in both 4.5 and 5.5 engine capacities, imported through Piaggio Group Americas, Inc., Aprilia USA warrants the motorcycle will be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of six (6) months, without mileage limitations. This warranty commences when the motorcycle is delivered to its first retail purchaser. This warranty is valid for the RXV and SXV motorcycle in restricted (street legal) or de-restricted (off road use only) forms. To obtain service under this warranty, upon discovery of the alleged defect the motorcycle must be brought to the service department of any authorized Aprilia dealer. This dealer will, without charge for parts or labor, either repair or replace the defective part(s). The decision to repair or replace said part(s) is solely the prerogative of Aprilia USA. All replaced parts under
this warranty shall become the property of Aprilia USA. This warranty does not cover pick up or delivery of the motorcycle. All transportation, shipping and handling costs incurred by the buyer in obtaining service, including, but not limited to, pickup and delivery charges, shall be borne by the buyer and not Aprilia USA or any authorized Aprilia service center.

APRILIA USA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
Some states or provinces do not allow the exclusion or imitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you. However, in most states, this warranty does not included the costs of any inconvenience, loss of use of the vehicle, consequential damages, or property damage due to the failure of the product and does not cover damage due to misuse, abuse, accident, act of god, or any natural calamity or damage arising out of transportation of the product. This express warranty is the sole warranty provided by the manufacturer and distributor of the product and no other person is authorized to extend any warranty on behalf of said manufacturer or distributor. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or limited, including the implied warranty of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Exclusion: This warranty does not apply to the following.
1. Routine maintenance, service and adjustments as well as tools, lubricants, brake pads and other consumables.
2. Damage resulting from:
a. Alteration c. Misuse
b. Neglect d. Abuse
3. Lack or reasonable or proper maintenance not performed in a timely manner.
4. Use of inappropriate or contaminated fuel and fluids or lubricants with technical specifications lower than those detailed in the Use and Maintenance Booklet.
5. Rust and corrosion
6. Repairs improperly performed or replacement parts improperly installed.
7. Use of component parts not manufactured or supplied by Aprilia USA.
8. Modifications not recommended or approved in writing by Aprilia USA.
9. Normal wear, tear and deterioration.
10. Vehicles altered with modification kits that make the vehicles improper for use on public highways (this includes kits produced and/or sold by Aprilia USA.
11. Activities such as rental use, commercial use, competitive exhibitions, performance tests, shows and other
demonstrations.
12. Accidents, collisions or improper riding conduct.
13. Third party actions such as theft, burglary, fires, acts of vandalism, deceitful simulation, chance or force major.
Protracted warranty repairs do not cause any extension of warranty duration.

Just on the new super-duper race model (and the price is actually about triple). The regular SXV's will stay about the same as mine, but with the better warranty.
