It was a great, great day! I had my own tire warmers and generator. Thank God a brought a fan b/c it was hot! I decided to stay out of the GT1 race as it didn't seem worth the entry fee or tire wear to get my but kicked some more. Instead I saved myself for the Superbike 600 race.

Things went really well. I got a great start, but maybe lost a few positions w/in the first lap due to being so enamored w/ my start. But I held my own but was held up by a guy or two for a couple laps. Finally I got around them (I think coming out of the carousel) and pulled a gap. Lap times fell to 1:14.4 (a PR) to low 1:15's. Towards the end of the race I saw that I was catching an orange Kawasaki. After almost winning the drag race to T1 but backing off to be safe I took him on the inside of T4 to pick up 4th place. I'm really happy about this as turn 4 has historically been a weak area for me.

In all we had a safe, confident, successful day of racing. Good weather, new tires, tire warmers, confidence, and mental preparation allowed my previous PR to be broken by about 2 seconds.

Thanks to Suomy helmets, LP, Braking, Fringe Clothing, AmsOil, and LeoVince Exhaust

Still 3-4 seconds a lap behind the winners.... And I have a lot of laps around Nelson unlike other tracks. We'll see how it goes. I'd love for Abtech to come up to me and be like:

Um yea, we're going to ask you to move up to the whack pack.
What a great compliment that would be! Until then, I'll not exaggerate whatever skills I may or may not have.

Well done, Dan! I can't imagine you won't be in the advanced group after a couple of sessions.

I can't wait! Next month right? I think Frenchie will be there too. Hopefully Jim will have his bike fixed by then.

Congrats. Glad to see Fasttrax turning around getting attention from someplace like RRW. Todd must be doing well at the helm.
