Lfg929 down at Beaver Run

Larry had a highside today while racing at Beaver Run. Anybody know how he's doing? Hope he's okay...

I have a cell phone number for him but I'm not sure how current it is. I'll try and give him a call tomorrow.

I know Dan Sheehan (another rider that went down and is in the hospital with a punctured lung)... Geez, scary stuff.

Re: Lfg929 down at Beaver Run

Just read this...doubt he'll be joining us at Grattan.

....Larry Glaze. Has a broken bone in his hand and a hairline fracture right below his knee. He was in pain and more than likely he's done for the year, if not calling it quits for good. I think Larry is getting everything looked at here in Columbus. The bike's not bad, just rash and a dinged pipe.

Re: Lfg929 down at Beaver Run

I called the number I have and left a message. If it's still his number I'm sure it'll be a little while before I hear anything. Not surprised to hear that he's likely done. Larry has crashed - a LOT. I'm sure he and especially his wife are both getting tired of it.

I don't know. From what I understand his wife is into flying airplanes. Arguably just as dangerous and costly.

Nah, his wife is pretty cool. Like HD said, she's into planes which are arguably far more dangerous. I spoke to Larry earlier in the year and he mentioned getting tired of crashing so I think he'll probably make that decision.

Finally heard back from Larry...
Quote:
i am doing ok. ended up with a sprained left ankle, fractured left tibia (no cast, just a splint), and a broken left hand (again, just a splint)
was kicking butt at the time. started on the 12th row in about 17th or 18th place, had moved up to 8th place when i crashed.

That's good news. I had hoped he'd be joining us at Grattan...obviously he won't be now.

He's talking about track position...always a good sign.
