Wow, seems you got the bug. Glad to see not to much damage from your cone impact. And it's nice to hear you're having fun Doc! For me, racing is out of the question, as I'm blessed with being terribly slow.

Thanks, and yeah right about your being "terribly slow"! Somehow, I doubt that! I am slow, I mainly wanted to get the licence to open up more track riding oportunities, but now I think I will do a few races.

Just a few...here and there...

Yeah that guy was a little "off". I watched him nearly highside the thing right in front of me coming out of turn 6. In the pits afterward he told me that was the third time! He went down because he tried to undercut somebody in the bustop, and they turned in front of him for a late apex. Almost took them out too. Way too aggressive.

Watching that guy, particularily on the 125, was the highlight of my race day! Coming off the back straight he would slice through whatever traffic there was like nothing, then flick through the chicane like a cat. Beautiful! In the Singles GP/Ultralight superbike/Lightweight vintage (combined) race he had the lead from the start and opened up an additional half straight on every lap. Started lapping back markers very early on.

Thanks man! Uh, I happened to see a Hypermoto out there. Did pretty well too!

1: Two 125's comong into turn 6
2&3: PJ in turn 6. On the cool down lap, only decent pics I got of him.
4: Hypermoto in 6.

Watch the way PJ goes through a whole pack of us at Miller, at about the 5:57 mark of this video:

Wow, that happened even faster than I was expecting.

How many cameras do you have on your bike?

What is sticking off the sides of the bike that you're following from about 2:45-3:00

I love that clip.

Good on ya for getting out there DrHall. I think most people feel the same about their first race, especially the, "this isn't a trackday!" part. Even the race practice sessions don't prepare you for what you are about to do.

yeah I read that too. He's going to the RedBull MotoGP Academy this year. I wish him well, he gives us Americans a good shot at some world championships in the future.

holy crap you really gotta keep your eye on the screen or you miss him. I knew 125s carry a lot of corner speed but he was just simply flying by.

That's the R1 of Aaron Lanningham, a great guy who is the Pirelli rep and a former AMA racer. He lost the use of his legs in an accident several years back, and that apparatus enables him to have the bike stand on its own when he gets back to the pit area. The guy is an outstanding and inspirational rider.

I have one camera on my bike that I move to different positions through the day (or days), and then splice the footage together using editing software.

I remember laughing in my helmet when that happened. We were moving along at a pretty good clip, too. Several of the guys in front of me were just shaking their heads, going "I can't believe what I just saw!"

I laughed out loud when it hit that part. I had to watch it over and over. I still can't believe it. I didn't realize that there could be that much more "room" above the pace you were riding.
