I have a special button on my new GPS that says "find the Mod's house". Worked great, don't you think ?
thanks for reading my buildup post - regards - Dave
ps - Which MY VFR do you have ? I didn't see a year on your profile, but didn't search the threads either. Love my 2007 Anniversary red, white & blue VFR.

OT I guess, but Dave, did you leave the stock screen on the GS-A?

Yes, I used the stock GS/A screen on the bike. Frankly, I felt its performance was superior for being so small. Airflow was over my helmet and I am 6 feet and was using the Sargent low seat. I rode the majority of dry weather with my helmet visor open. Perfect for me.
Did you get my PM on Alaska ride ideas, routes, et al??

It looked stock. I'm 6' also...it's uncomfortable to ride visor up with any real speed though.

Sure did, thanks!
We still don't have internet at home thanks to the morons at Speakeasy, so I haven't been able to follow up on it, but more later.

Have you tried various positions of the screen - up & down? What seat are you using? As I recall, you have the GS/A also, correct ?

Same color as yours even. Stock seat, lower position. I have the screen all the way up, haven't tried it lower, but I guess I should.

What color is that -- dirty ??
Seriously, I am surprised that you are not having good results. The only thing I can suggest is to experiement with the screen positions. I have been super happy with my stock screen and I was VERY skeptical to start with with, but I'm sold on it. No aftermarket screens needed for the big girl IMHO.
As you know, helmets also make a difference in buffeting sometimes. I am running a Shoei flipup when I ride the GS/A.

Do too.

I gotta get the kids to keep the doors closed.
My VFR is a 98. It's also a special edition but for more sentimental reasons.

Thanks for the post on the Michelin T63's - much appreciated ! I always like to hear the real-world experiences of components. I need to check to see if the T63's come in sizes to fit the DR.
Have your ridden on TKC80's ? If so, how would you compare offroad and onroad grip to the TKC's ? Did you ride any slippery (clay) mud or any sand on the T63's?
I'm all ears........
thanks in advance - Dave
David,
No on the TKC's... yes on the mud and sand and they were stellar.
Not much clay in northern MI, but I would assume they would be as good as anything. They worked fine on the hard packed stuff. I wanted to get the Dunlop D606's but they were out and I needed something fast. Iron Pony and the T63's were my only other option other than the stock Dunlops or Cheng Sihn's. I am sure the T63's would be available for the DR, in fact I thought they were the same size as the KiLleR. (90-90-21 & 130-80-17) Too soon to see how they wear on the slab, but be assured they do like to "sing" to you as you ride.
P.S.....where are you at in Ohio?

Thanks for the rundown on the T63's performance. Very helpful. I am in northeast Ohio - towards the PA border. The snow belt of all things. I also have a home in the Bonita Springs / Naples, Florida area for an escape from the snow & winter cold. I keep my VFR there so I can remember how to ride during the winter months.....
regards - Dave

Take care.
