Be Careful when off-roading!

Motorcyclist decapitated by wire across path | International News | News | Telegraph

Sounds like a local objector to bikes riding the hills in Italy took the law into his own hands with a terrible result.

Re: Be Careful when off-roading!

This has also happen near my house in Ontario. A land owner has given right of way to a Snowmobile Trail Organization. He also rented out the house, not the farm land to a guy that did not like the snowmobile crossing behind his property (keep in mind he is not renting the property in question) so he decides to do the same thing and decapitated a man and his wife.

BTW it looks like he will be doing some time for two charges of manslaughter.

Re: Be Careful when off-roading!

That's not manslaughter. That's fucking murder. Death penalty.

BTW, I have seen and had to avoid many booby traps on my bike. The favorite was deep holes.

With premeditation and wanton disregard for life. That shit makes my blood boil. I hope they catch the Italian guy in Fogey's link and introduce him to Luca Brasi.

Didn't realize you had been to Nelson's Ledges...

A better trilogy of movies does not exist.

Or on a SE Michigan highway ... any one

Yeah, what CBR said. The excuse that they "didn't intend to kill anyone" by putting a razer wire across the road just pisses me off. Or the oil/sand thrown in a blind corner that motorcycles travel. There should be torture involved in the punishment.

Remember that case here in SOCAL where those asshats pulled the cable and took out those two street dudes. They are doing some time right now.

Re: Be Careful when off-roading!

I had a guy step in front of me riding while with my son a couple days ago - on Easter. Surprised me, as he kind of showed up out of nowhere and I'd never seen him before. He told me he didn't think I should be riding where I was and that he just might put some surprises in the field to catch us next time.
I told him if he didn't get off my property that instant I would shoot him. I also told him if I ever see him close to it, let alone on it, ever again, he would be shot and his family sued.
I followed him extremely close with the four wheeler, making sure he left quickly.

Re: Be Careful when off-roading!

Any way to identify him? get a license plate? I'd advise the police that you received an ecoterrorist threat against you and your child.

I'm pretty sure he's new to the area and didn't know it. There is a development going in kiddie corner from it (and my land is soon to be sold as well), so it is likely he was from over there.

He was on foot, I watched him walk up the road for a minute, but went back to having fun with the family. I'm pretty sure he knew I was serious and that he had gotten in over his head once I stood up on the thing, but if I do see him around at all I will find out which place is his.
I also doubt he was an ecoterrorist (didn't see him get into a Honda), but was more wanting to whine and "teach someone a lesson" because I was playing and making noise on Easter Sunday.
Five years ago there were only six or seven homes within a quarter mile of the property. Now there are more than fifty.
We've played on the land with family on Easter for quite a few years now. This was the last year, as the land will no longer be mine within a few months.

What arrogance to come on your land and complain. Should have shot him anyway...

I've looked down the wrong end of a shotgun on a farmer's land. I actually thought I was going to see it discharge too...and learn what rock salt felt like in my azz.

More tresspassers need to see that. It'll teach you to respect such things very quickly, and unforgettably.

The Sierra Club had a series of "battle books", one of which targeted motorcyclists and actually showed how to construct "boobie traps". I actually wrote a paper many years ago for an english class pointing out how outrageous the book was.

No BS eco-terrorism at its worst.

The Sierra Club has their hearts in the right place, but they've not controlled some of their zealots as they should over the years....
